Today's MuscleTone Shows

No MuscleTone bands are playing shows today.

We're Heading to Iowa for Punkvoter and Some Good Old American Politics

It's a campaign year and MuscleTone Records is going to Iowa during the caucus to support Punkvoter, a political education organization we endorse that was founded by NOFX's Fat Mike. It has hit the ground running.

Here's what's happening:

Saturday Night (January 10, 2004)
9pm, Blues on Grand Club Gig, Des Moines

Wayne Kramer plays a solo set of his songs, some of which are known to have a political undertone. It's open to the public. $10 (all money benefits the regularly scheduled band).

Sunday Afternoon (January 11, 2004)
3pm, Press Conference, Hotel Fort Des Moines

Wayne Kramer: Representing MuscleTone Records
Billy Gould: ex-Faith No More, Kool Arrow Records
Tim McIlrath: From Chicago's Rise Against
Chris #2: From Pittsburgh's Anti-Flag, A-F Records, and Underground Action Alliance

Sunday Night (January 11, 2004)
7pm, Black & Brown Presidential Forum

It's the debate. We'll be there. We'll let you know what happens.

Visit Punkvoter to get details.

Cobra Verde Climbs Into Your TV--
STAR-STUDDED "RIOT INDUSTRY" VIDEO DEBUTS IN TOP 20!

We here at Muscletone are more than happy to report that Cobra Verde's star-studded "Riot Industry" video debuted at #16 on the national ROCK/ALT music video charts of the CVC Report, sandwiched between Korn and the White Stripes.

Without sounding arrogant, we -- and just about everyone else who's seen the "Riot Industry" -- aren't surprised. When's the last time you've seen a video that doesn't take itself too seriously, tells a story, warps all sorts of conventions and features a star-studded cast befitting a reunion of "The Love Boat"?

Uber punk Mike Watt (Minutemen, fIREHOSE, the Stooges) stars as your everyday "idle American." He wakes up to a flannel bathrobe and a bowl of soggy cereal only to find that Cobra Verde has taken over his TV set. Yep, that's him dancing around the kitchen, having a Fred-Sanford-like heart attack, even appearing as a contestant on a spoof reality show, "Idle American." And yep, that's notorious barfly and comedic genius George Wendt ("Cheers"). He not only hosts a faux fishing show, "Gone Fishin' with George W," he also fishes the band out of Lake Michigan. And yes, that's Blaxploitation legend Rudy Ray Moore popping up as Dolemite to "keep it surreal."

Throw in Danielle, the internationally acclaimed Egyptian belly dancer, a punk bowler chick, some gutter ball antics, and the band pulling all sorts of mind control stunts and what have you got? The nihilist singalong of the year!

Yeah, it dares to be fun and funny. But it's also a mini-movie with the heart and soul of 21st century riot. Sing along to the bouncing ball and let them blur your reality!

SEE THE VIDEO HERE!.

Cobra Verde Does Little Steven

You can hear Cobra Verde doing promos on Little Steven's "Underground Garage" syndicated radio show. Little Steven has been a generous supporter of MuscleTone and is going to be airing Cobra Verde rock action. Of course, he came straight to the source for hot spiel for the special Cleveland edition of the show.

Classic Rock Revisited Visits Wayne Kramer & Cheap Trick In Wichita, Kansas

Wayne's three-week tour as the support for Cheap Trick is going really well. New fans are coming out of the audience every night to write to Wayne and to post on the Message Board. Wayne Kramer Makes Rolling Stone Magazine "100 Greatest Guitarists Of All Time" List

Best-Of Lists...How do they come up with these things? That's right, Wayne Kramer was voted as one of the greatest guitarists of all time by Rolling Stone in the September 18, 2003 Issue 931 of the mag. He can be found at #93 on the list right next to MC5 bandmate Fred "Sonic" Smith. To see the rest of the list you can click here.
