Winner Chosen For 7" Cover Contest

Side A:

Created by Quentyn Ensor

Side B:

Finally, we've chosen a winner. Quentyn Ensor has designed the winning cover for the first MuscleTone Art Contest. Congratulations Quentyn, we love the cover.

Unfortunately, Mother Superior have changed their minds about their participation in the 7" cover art contest. MuscleTone sincerely appreciates the time each of you took to create original art for this competition, and if you would like to contact Mother Superior please visit their website.

Now that we have an opening for the B Side, Wayne Kramer has generously donated a song you've never heard before called "Oswald Brigade."

The 7" is scheduled for a winter 2004/2005 release.

Cobra Verde "Easy Listening" Hits Stores!

We saw their tight pants and witnessed their huge egos...A recipe for disaster if I ever saw one," Wayne Kramer jokes about seeing Cobra Verde live for the first time on the east side of Los Angeles a few months ago. "We're really proud to bring this album to the unprepared masses."

Cobra Verde's brand new album "Easy Listening" features J. Mascis and is available in record stores everywhere and online through through the MuscleTone Store.

Wayne Kramer on the radio?

Well, not really. Wayne is usually escorted out of radio stations, so this might shock some of you.

Our friends in Vesica Pisces have a new album out called "Halfway To Naked." The first single is called "No Easy Way Out," (which you all will recognize as a WK track off of "Citizen Wayne.") Well, it's being added to stations around the country and they're asking for help to spread the word.

How can you help? Call, email, write, morse code, smoke signal... all your friends, relatives, alumni, business colleges, associates around the country and tell them to tune in and request Vesica Pisces! So, if you're game, here's the info for each station already playing the track.

HOLIDAY RE-RUN OF WAYNE KRAMER INTERVIEW ON "FRESH AIR"

On Tuesday, August 20, 2002 on NPR's "Fresh Air", Wayne talked to Terry Gross for one hour about his life and songwriting. During the Christmas break, Terry Gross re-ran the interview. If you missed it the first time around, check out NPR.org to hear it streaming.

In the late 1960s Wayne founded the revolutionary group MC5 -- a forerunner of punk rock and heavy metal. After a stint in federal prison, Wayne dove head first into a prolific solo career. Seven solo albums and numerous projects later he discusses it all.

Wayne's first new solo studio album in 5 years is "Adult World." He talked about all of this and his new label MuscleTone Records. If you missed it, click here for an archived version of the one-hour show as well as Ken Tucker's 6-minute glowing review of "Adult World" from July 25th. Thanks and enjoy "Fresh Air"!
